Building Confidence. Building Connection. One Student at a Time.

We’re excited to share how Mentor a Mentor is growing—thanks to God’s faithfulness and your ongoing support.

Breaking Classes in Juarez, Mexico

In February, we launched afterschool breaking (breakdancing) classes through a local school partnership in Juarez. Today, more than 20 adolescents have a safe and creative space to grow—especially meaningful in a community where free sports programs are limited and many young people are surrounded by the realities of violence.

Building More Than Robots

With two new laptops, learning has accelerated in our Floridablanca robotics program. Girls make up 60% of the class, and 67% of students returned from last year. Carlos not only teaches robotics—he also shares life lessons, his faith, and prays with the students at the end of each class.

Two new laptops were purchased thanks to donations received during last year’s Giving Tuesday Campaign.

A Visit From Minnesota

In March, founder Rebecca Wynia, along with board members and friends, visited our programs in Colombia, spending time with mentors, students, and families. Our partner, Fundación Niños de Paz, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous donations of markers, paper, pencils, and other school supplies. These resources will support hundreds of students in the community throughout the year. The visit was a time of meaningful connection, encouragement, and joy for everyone involved.

Faithful in Mexico, Training in Brazil

Gabriel has been a faithful mentor at Casa Hogar orphanage in Chihuahua, Mexico since 2016, consistently showing up for the children with care and dedication. He is currently in Brazil training for the Capoeira World Championships, while Fernanda—a trusted colleague—continues mentoring in his place during his time away.

Mentors Gabriel and Fernanda have shared years of Capoeira training in Chihuahua, Mexico.

How You Can Pray

  • Fundación Niños de Paz: Please pray for Isaias and Patricia, leaders of our partner foundation in Colombia. They recently had to move out of their rented space in the “La Paz” neighborhood due to unresolved maintenance issues and a rent increase.  He has found a smaller space, but please pray for God’s favor and guidance if there is an even better space available.

  • Gabriel in Brazil: For protection, growth, and favor as he trains for the World Championships.

  • Instructor Daniel: That God would open doors for our other breaking teacher, Daniel, to continue teaching classes in Juarez, as the public school he previously worked with is no longer able to host the program.
